Nice interaction between Susan and Barbara. Susan also has some nice scenes with Ping-Cho. No real explanation how Tegana could the girls in the sand storm. Sure send Tegana ahead to secure the water, should have sent Ian with him. The Doctor finally appears only to collapse.

Listening to the audio with my eyes closed and no distractions really enhanced the experience this time. The sound effects used for the sandstorm were particularly chilling...

SUSAN: "We should be up there. Another time, another galaxy." I watched a telesnap recon for this episode. It was not as enjoyable as the animated one and the story was also not as good.

That's just too bad.
The first half of this episode was I think, the best 10 minutes since the first part of "An unhearthly child'. Suzanne did stuff, there were some good character developments, I love it when characters play chess and I loved the little discussion between Barbara and Suzanne.
But once the sandstorm stops, things just go on and on at a very terrible pace. It becomes very boring. The water-supply plot is just so cliché it's kind of funny. I think this second part would have been better with the Doctor being more involved in this but thanks to ScottG12 I now know why it wasn't really an option.
Yea... Let's keep watching.

Agreed, dull episode. Actually dozed off during it and had to go back and rewatch it.

First episode without having the Doctor throughout most of it, due to Hartnell being ill that week. Apart from that there’s nothing interesting to note, very dull episode.
